Not really solo travel related, but due to how helpful you all are I thought this would be the best place to ask.

Anyway, my wife and I just got back from a visa-run to Laos and there were a noticeable amount of westerners there that seemed sketchy. Anyone ever have the same experience?

It seemed like there were a lot of people who were mentally unstable, really drunk, or on some sort of drugs (on a previous trip there a tuk tuk driver offered me meth).

There were still a lot of normal travelers, but the amount of sketchy looking people stood out to us.
