Saving for my first Solo. Need advice.

Im 29 and have done literally nothing with my life besides work, and it has always been my dream to travel the world and see other cultures.

So i've started saving up for my first solo trip, im currently at $10,000 and I project to be at $30-35,000 by beginning of July which is when I plan to give notice and go.

Im nervous to be honest. Its been my only dream but now that im on the path to doing it I feel a bit paralyzed and worried about 1000 different things. Should I finish the year out at work and save double the money? Where should I go? Will $30,000 be enough? Wont I just be lonely? What about clothes, what do you buy for a trip around the world?!

Money:

The money question is a bit hard and personal preference. I have a good job that pays really well, but im slowly giving in to apathy and depression and want to take this time to recover "me". Im preeeeetty sure I could get another job when I get back with comparable pay but I dont know with the gap in employment. Im looking to travel for 6 months min - 1 year. If I price all this out and its too much for $30-35k ... I guess ill wage slave it another 6 months and bring it to 70k.

Where to?

I have a general idea of the Countries I want to visit and order.

  • Japan
  • South Korea
  • China
  • Vietnam
  • Thailand
  • India
  • Romania
  • Hungary
  • Poland
  • Germany
  • Switzerland
  • Italy
  • France
  • England

I dont plan on hitting any major cities in these countries, except maybe France and England, as I prefer very rural areas.

So what do you think reddit? Help a newbie traveler out with some advice?
