Road trip transportation suggestions
Howdy,
So me and my buddies are seniors in college and are planning a spring break road trip as kind of a last hoorah before we all disperse. We’re looking to do a road trip from central Texas (about an hour outside Austin) to LA and back hitting a some of the big stops along the way. We have 9 days to do it. The issue we’re running into is transportation.
There’ll be 16 of us max. Ideally, we’d take as few vehicles as possible. So we were looking into renting an RV and using another 8 person car that one of us already had, however with us being 21-23 most places won’t rent to us. So an idea that was being bounced around is finding a old school bus or other such transport and using that.
What I wanted to ask is how feasible is that? It’s a pretty long ride and while it’d be awesome to have a bus (after the trip we’d give it to the organization we’re in so we’d get some compensation) our price range isn’t that high and we don’t want to get stuck in an old beater of a school bus. I’ve found a couple reasonably priced buses online and talked to some of the sellers. I just don’t want to go any further until I hear from people a bit more knowledgeable on road trips.
If you’ve got any suggestions or alternative it’d be much appreciated!
TL;DR can you make a 40 hour round trip road trip in a sub 2500 dollar bus?
