Recommendation for a 1-2 week March vacation? Spa? City?

I'm about to switch jobs, and at the new job I won't have accrued enough vacation to get a full week off until August, so I want to make sure to get some good travel in now. The downside is that the new company wants me to start asap, so the latest I can start is March 25th, which really only gives me max 2 weeks for travel with everything else I also have to get done by then. Unfortunately, a lot of the things that are really high on my list are things that I feel like I need longer to do properly (New Zealand, Vietnam, Israel), or that the weather isn't great for (Baltic States). I'll be close to NYC in my new job, so I want to take this opportunity to do something that isn't weekend-trippable from there.

I'm torn between two types of vacation: 1. Going to a spa-like location for some much-needed destressing before I dive into this new job. 2. Doing a more standard trip for me, which involves spending most of my time sightseeing in cities. Alternatively, I could do a bit of both -- go to an all-inclusive spa resort for a long weekend, then fly somewhere else for a week.

Some of my favorite solo trips from the past have been:

  • Weekend in Budapest
  • 15 days traveling by train from Milan to Copenhagen
  • Long weekend in Martinique
  • 7 days driving around Ireland

While it's tempting to go somewhere I've been before as a lower-energy type of trip, I really want to take this time to go somewhere new, especially since I'm moving in with my SO so this may be my last long *solo* trip. Also, preferably somewhere that isn't freezing right now! I'm much more of a mountain person than a beach person, but most of the spa-focused resort experiences seem to be on beaches, and I would appreciate the warmth. Also, preferably something that doesn't require *too* much pre-planning (ex: no visas from the US) because I'm definitely short on time these next few weeks.

Some options I'm considering are:

  • Bora Bora, Vanuatu, or Tahiti
  • Portugal
  • Morocco
  • Canary Islands
  • St. Lucia BodyHoliday Resort
  • Georgia
  • Czech Republic

What are your thoughts and suggestions? Thanks in advance!
