Recently Single, time to Solo Travel (again)
I've traveled before throughout SE Asia (Thailand/Cambodia/Vietnam), South America (Colombia), Mexico and the hot spots in Europe as well as some solo travel in Europe (Germany, Spain, a little Portugal) and am looking to take another solo travel excursion this spring (thinking April or May). Likely a 10 day trip will be the most I can get away with work wise.
A little bit more about my backstory - my fiancee/long time GF of 7 years recently left me and called off our engagement. We traveled a lot together, recently going to Bali for a vacation in the fall, and we had traveled a bit together in South America and Europe before. I am looking to take a nice solo adventure to help take my mind off things as well as start the process of moving forward/meeting new people. I'm a 29 year old male. Pretty social individual but sometimes it takes me a bit to get out of my shell with brand new people.
I'm really open to visiting anywhere in the world. I would like to stay in social hostels so I can meet people. Not just looking for a party trip however, as I definitely want to see sights and experience culture. I know Europe is probably the easiest given my amount of time, but I've been to most of the big cities in Western/Central Europe and might find it best to branch out.
Are there any "must visit" solo locations that you solo travelers have visited that you would go back to in a heartbeat? I would be coming from the US so Asia is likely not as feasible given the amount of time. I'm really open to anything!
