Northern Europe Itinerary Advice

Hi all — I’m nailing down some details of a trip I’d like to put together this summer. Nothing is booked or set in stone, so I’m open to any and all suggestions. I’m from the US, 27, male, if any of that matters.

Part of me says I don’t get to travel as often as I’d like, so it’d be great to get a small sampling of everything - I can choose my favorites later on and plan to revisit them in greater depth another time. Of course, any one of these destinations could warrant a full trip on its own. I don’t want to pack too much into this time frame, but I also want to get a good variety and range of things while I’m in Europe.

The first and last cities are pretty much decided (planning to fly in through Iceland, and visiting a friend in Brussels). Everything in between is up for debate. I’m open to cutting some places out or even swapping out some cities for others in the region.

I looked into flying vs trains for each leg of the trip and the flights actually seem a bit cheaper and faster, though I’m not sure I’d like to spend that much time navigating airports - though would trains be any better? It would be quite scenic, maybe just for one or two legs of the trip?

Open to any and all suggestions for what to do while I’m there. I’m planning on a few city walking tours, museums, nightlife, and any music opportunities (classical or otherwise). I’m looking to go sometime in mid to late June, and return in early to mid July. Roughly two to three weeks.

Any thoughts, tips, warnings, or ideas are much appreciated! Thanks all!

Reykjavik, Iceland

Bergen or Oslo, Norway

Stockholm, Sweden

Copenhagen, Denmark

Amsterdam/Rotterdam/The Hague, the Netherlands

Brussels, Belgium
