North East USA in July
Hey all,
I'm planning on 6 weeks in northeast USA and western Canada in June July this year. Im looking forward to it as I havent spent much time in the US - just really a little of LA and Phoenix for work. Canada is very familiar ground - I have friends in Victoria and Banff, and have spent time there before. I live in New Zealand.
I like to travel a little off the beaten track (explore/adventure) - I've booked a couple of days in Chicago at the start (mid June), then I've got about two weeks to drive my rental car to New York. Then I have a few days in NY before heading over to Canada on the 4th of July.
The US is quite unfamiliar ground! I was hoping anyone who had road tripped it might have some ideas of what route to take? The cities will sort themselves out (museums/govt et al), but I'm pretty keen on doing some hiking or biking wherever I can and visiting some cultural highlights.
TL;DR Which road-trip route would you take to explore from Chicago to New York?
