My phone stopped working while abroad. I could use some advice
Hello solo travelers of reddit. I am in a bit of a pickle and thought you all might be able to help.
I currently have a Moto X4 with Google Fi. The moto stopped working (I won't go into detail) and need advice on what to do while I'm still abroad. I think it's a hardware issue and that motorola will fix the phone under warranty, but that process could take a while.
I'm currently in Tokyo for the next 2 days. Then in Bangkok for 4 days. Then Koh Lanta for a month before heading back to the US.
I see a couple options:
-
I just get a new Google Fi capable phone (online? physical store?)
-
I get a cheap temporary phone in Thailand and deal with the Google Fi stuff when I'm back in the US.
-
I deal with not having a phone and try to figure out shipping and receiving my moto in Thailand.
-
A mix of #2 and #3
Would love to hear what you all think I should do in this situation. Tips on what to do and how to do it would be great! I'm just so used to doing all these things through Amazon or Google in the US.
I'll try to respond ASAP but I'm limited to Wi-Fi on my laptop.
