My first solo trip!
Hi,
I’m a 20 year old male from the UK. I have just booked my first ever solo flight to Bangkok. I fly out on the 29th July and return on the 27th August.
My hobbies include but not limited to- Drinking/partying, eating locally, shopping markets, exploring urban and natural beauty, photography.
My plan is to stay in Bangkok for a few days, visit the markets, the notorious Khao San Road and other attractions.
I also know I want to do a sleeper train up to Chiang Mai and see the temples and feed and bath elephants (I would like some advice on where is good for this please and treat the elephants well.) I would like to explore here for a good few days.
I want to go down to Koh Phangan and go and experience the parties there. Possibly the full moon which is on 15th August.
I have already booked my flights there and back so need to start and finish in Bangkok but want to keep booking way in advance to a minimum for now because I want the flexibility to being able to change my plans. Although, I am happy to book if things need to be booked/are a lot easier if they are booked.
I would like to keep budget below £1600 excluding my flight to and from Bangkok. Planning on staying in hostels.
1) I know it’s a rainy in Thailand at that time of year but what’s the weather like? Will the weather effect what I’m planning to do?
2) What else have you done in Thailand that you’ve loved?That I could do in August.
3) Chiang Mai elephant sanctuaries? Where treats the elephants the best?
4) Any other first timer advice?
