Relatively new to travelling on my own and hoping to get to Montenegro in April because I've heard great things about it. I'll have about 9 days give or take and will be flying in and out from Podgorica. Thinking of starting in Kotor, working my way through Tivat, Budva, Bar and then back to Podgorica by Lake Skadar, spending 1/2 nights in each.

Just wondering if I'm really missing out by not heading north for the likes of Durmitor National Park?

Also I've read that it's a good idea to rent a car to see everything but not sure yet if that'll be an option. If I go with public transport am I going to be wasting a lot of time sitting on buses?
