Itinerary for Italy trip
X-Post from r/travel
Hey all! I've really enjoyed the community of this subreddit as I'm planning my first ever international vacation. I'm a Male, will be 25 at time of travel and it will be a (mostly) solo trip because of a friends wedding. I've penned out a flexible itinerary and would like any input on if this sounds good or if there are any issues you see with it. Also, if there are any suggestions I'm open to hear them and make adjustments.
July 31- Arrival flight into Venice. Train into Venice, explore, spend two nights in hostel.
Aug 2 - Train to Padua, rent a car, drive to AirBNB
Aug 2-7 - Spend time in countryside with friends, between AirBNBs. Attend wedding Aug 5
Aug 8 - Drop rental car in Padua, train to Cinque Terre
Aug 8-9 - Explore Cinque Terre by public transport, stay in hostel
Aug 10 - Train to Rome
Aug 10-14 - Explore Rome. Colosseum, Vatican City, soccer match (if available) etc. Stay in hostel(s).
Aug 15 - Fly home from Rome
The only MUST do of the entire trip is the wedding, since that's the reason for the trip. Everything else is flexible and I'd like to keep a semi loose schedule so I can adjust to whatever I might feel like doing.
Any advice, tips, suggestions, or criticisms are welcome. Thanks in advance!
