Has anyone tried houses-sitting as a form of solo travel?
I spoke to someone recently in a hostel who said he's going to be housesitting in LA soon for someone - looking after their cats. It all sounded a bit too good to be true. He basically said he's built up quite a good account on a house sitting website and because he has good reviews now, he can essentially be a housesitter anywhere he wants. Pretty much everyone on there will be advertising it to look after their cats and dogs, so of course there is responsibility and of course you're often somewhere where there may not be great public transport, and not staying in a hostel it might be more difficult to meet people.
Has anyone done this? Would you do this?
