Eurail vs individual tickets
Hey everyone! This summer I will be taking my first solo trip. I will be traveling for 3.5 weeks from late May to mid June. My rough itinerary is Paris-Amsterdam-Berlin-Prague-Krakow-Budapest-Vienna. I definitely want to be flexible and not book my train tickets months in advance, ideally I would like to book them 1-2 days in advance or maybe even the same day at the train station.
I have read previous post about Eurail in this subreddit and it seems like the majority of people think an Eurail pass is more expensive than buying the tickets individually. I also read that it is cheaper to buy the tickets from individual train companies rather than 3rd party websites. I searched for a Paris to Amsterdam ticket at www.bahn.com for 2 days from now to see what I would expect to pay, and the price is over 100 euros. This is almost 1/3 of what the Eurail pass cost.
Am I looking for individual tickets at the wrong website? If so, which websites should I use to book my tickets? Would it be better for me to buy the Eurail pass given my itinerary?
Thanks for the help everyone!
