Advice on where to go from Singapore with a month of time?

I am going to Singapore on business, which will be concluded in just a few days. Since I love travelling and SE asia I took a month off my day job and have a decent budget ($3k canadian) to travel for a month.

I would really appreciate some recommendations. So far, I really want to visit Laos and likely Vietnam, possibly Thailand and Cambodia. I've only been to Indonesia in SE asia and it was one of the best trips of my entire life and I've been to a lot of places.

About me: 23 years old, I consider myself pretty outgoing and have no problem making friends, would love to meet some likeminded people along the way - but I am comfortable being alone and generally don't get stressed or nervous when I travel.

I am comfortable in pretty extreme conditions as I did a tour of the amazon spanning 4 different countries while taking local boats and not seeing another tourist for weeks. Living off turtle meat and snake and not having electricity or internet for long periods of time.

What I am into:

Not super into partying, which is why I am unsure about Thailand. That being said I like to dance, enjoy drinking without going overboard and like pub crawls so I don't want to exclude "partying" completely - just places CRAWLing with drunk, obnoxious tourists who think its fun to flash locals or break shit.

Mostly looking for unique experiences (for example in Indonesia I did Komodo Islands - something truly one of a kind).

I would love to go to a few museums, love waterfalls and unique nature and animals, enjoy hiking and motorcycling. I eat everything and love exotic food, deep-fried giant maggots were one of my fav dishes in the amazon.

Anyway, I think I am blabbering on so, basically I am looking for:

  • unique places with rich culture that have some younger tourists that are down to drink and chill, but are not a HUGE party place
  • natural beauty including waterfalls, animals
  • cultural sights like temples, pagodas, unique museums
  • locals willing to interact with you beyond simple business transactions
  • unique things to do, I heard some good things about Laos (tubing - although some say its a shit show, rice growing lessons for example).
  • Also enjoy sports including more intense things like scuba diving, parasailing, motorcycling, etc.
  • A beautiful beach would be nice at some point in the trip, perhaps towards the end but isnt a strict necessity.

Would really appreciate any and all suggestions, so far I am thinking Singapore -> Vietnam (Hanoi? Have heard some mixed things about it being too dirty/busy and very mixed reviews of places like Ha Long Bay), explore areas around Hanoi? --> Luang Prabang, then possibly Vientiane - heard not so good things about vang vieng.

Apologize if my thoughts are disorganized - would really appreciate any personal experiences people have of Vietnam and Laos as well as other places in SE Asia outside Indonesia!
