[29 F] First Solo Trip: Banff, Jasper, & Yoho National Park
I’m planning a solo trip in June to the National Parks in Canada (from the U.S.). I’d rent a car once I’m in Calgary and then drive to Banff. My plan is to visit the parks for about 6-7 days. No overnight camping.
I would like to go on day hikes but am hesitant to go alone. Aside from bears/other wildlife, would I be safe doing day hikes on my own? Any advice/tips on where I should stay, hikes I should do, what I should bring? Would it be worth it to purchase an annual park discovery pass? Or should I stick with daily admission?
I’ve done Angels Landing in Zion National Park (~5 miles round trip), Lower Calf Creek Falls in Capitol Reef National Park (~5.5 miles round trip), & Havasupai in the Grand Canyon (~20 miles round trip).
