21F American. First solo trip to Central/Eastern Europe. Itinerary help, recommendation, and places to not miss.
After finding tickets to Copenhagen for $320 I decided to go for it and book a trip by myself. My plan is to buy a one way ticket out of Copenhagen in order to explore Central/ Eastern Europe, and then fly back to Copenhagen to go home.(couldn't find an open jaw ticket to beat the price). I arrive May 6 and my flight home is the 21st.
I'm thinking:
Fly to Berlin and arrive around 18:00. Stay for 3 nights.
Head to Prague. Stay for 3 nights.
Head to Vienna. Stay for 3 nights.
Head to Budapest. Stay for 5 nights.
Fly to Copenhagen, stay the night, then fly home.
Does this feel too rushed? Do you think I will have enough time in Berlin, Prague, and Vienna to actually enjoy the cities while accounting for travel time? On my last trip (Peru) I felt very rushed and unable to relax as we were only stayed at each place for a couple nights; However, on my trip to Iceland we only stayed in Reykjavik for the week and I felt like we were unable to see a lot. Never planned a trip like this, nor have a traveled through Europe, so any advice on this itinerary is welcome. A rough budget excluding my round trip ticket to Europe is around $1200. I am budget traveler and plan on staying in hostels. Is there a city I should skip, or replace with another city? I was hesitant to add Vienna but I love hiking and I wanted to incorporate some into my trip. I've done a lot of searching but most sample itinerary's only include city sight seeing , so if there are any hikes you'd recommend in the other cities listed, I'd love to check them out. This itinerary is very rough and I'm open to all changes.
