10 week countdown for my first ever solo trip!

I’m 25 M from Australia and have finally booked 5 months off work starting at the end of April. My only plan so far is to do Machu Picchu in Peru with my best friend at the start of the trip and then make my own way once he has to leave. Other than that I’m totally up for anything and looking for other solos traveller’s experiences, tips, places and things to do in South/Central America.

Also some ideas on what I will need to sort out in the next 10 weeks to be as ready as possible.
