I will travel the world for a year starting in a couple of months. I'll be reading a lot and I'm looking for beautiful, calm, not-touristic places. My first thought was Florence, Tuscany - that's the sort of spot I'm thinking about, but I thought that you redditors might have some fantastic recommendations.

I'm really interested in Cambodia & Vietnam, it looks stunning and has a zen vibe to it (at least in my mind). Would love to combine the trip with some meditation and yoga etc.

To learn Spanish will be a goal on my trip so Spanish speaking countries would be great as well.
