Tropical travel recommendations
Looking for ideas on where to go next year for a tropical vacation - don't have an idea of when yet. I'd be traveling solo but I can't seem to decide on an island - they all look gorgeous. Here's some criteria below to help narrow it down:

I'm looking for the plane ride to be 6 hours or under. I went to Japan a little over a year ago (which was amazing!), but I'm looking to avoid those killer flight times. I live in the U.S. in a Mid-Atlantic state.

I don't want to have to rent a car to get around. I'd prefer public transportation, walking, rideshares etc.

I love visiting gardens, conservatories, wildlife preserves, the beach etc. Light hiking, shopping, and dining out are also fun. I also enjoy learning the history of wherever I'm visiting. Never been to a jungle area, so not sure if I would like it or not.

I've already been to Bermuda as a kid (absolutely loved it).
What does everyone here recommend? Most islands seem to promote romantic getaways or fun family vacations, and I don't fall into either camp.
