Trip to Ancient Egypt
I'm not sure if this is the best place for it, but it would be a solo trip.
I've been recently getting into the works of Graham Hancock, Randal Carlson, Robert Shoch, and John Anthony West, and after reading and studying their works over the past several months, I've been very interested in getting access to visit some of the sites they discuss that show signs of being 10,000-30,000 years old, a far cry from what we currently mark as the building of the pyramids (2500BC~).
Anyway, that's not the question. The question is whether it's safe (relatively speaking) to go to certain places that I've been researching:
- Egypt: Pyramids of Giza, Sphinx, temple of the Sphinx
- Gobekli Tepe in the southeastern Anatolia region of Turkey
- Indonesia: Gunung Padang
I'd be looking at this as a research trip, so having a tour guide that can really answer questions would be preferred. John Anthony West used to do these tours before his death, but I'd love something like that if anyone has any suggestions.
Also... knowing the current political climate, I'm nervous about going to Turkey or Indonesia at the moment.
