Travel Insurance and medical tourism
Hi,
I'm planning on going overseas from Australia to the US for elective cosmetic surgery. I've never travelled overseas before and so i'm pretty clueless when it comes to travel insurance. I know that travel insurance wouldn't cover any medical expenses related to the surgery, but am I still able to purchase standard travel insurance for things not related to the surgery? Also, do i have to specify anywhere the purpose of my trip? The reason I ask is because I plan on not letting my family know that the purpose of my trip is for cosmetic surgery, but at the same they will want to make sure all my documents are fine and so they'll probably check the documents given to me by the insurance companies. I'd like to make sure that it just looks like a normal holiday.
Thanks!
