Tips from the experienced for a trip to New York
First time going to New York. I was thinking of staying in Brooklyn, but not 100% sure yet. I’ll be there from Thursday the 31st to Sunday the 3rd.
I’m planning on getting a metro card to get around.
Pretty much what Im looking for is:
-
Non-touristy things to do and explore. However, museums are okay. Weird quirky or art museums could be cool.
-
I’ve been considering Airbnb, hostels, and Couchsurfing in the bushwick area. Recommendations for inexpensive accessible areas are welcome.
-
good eats that don’t break the bank.
-
Chinatown!!!
-
I’m an avid thrifter. I used to flip stuff, but now I mostly go just to check out all the fun and cool things. Recommended routes or solid thrift stores would be great.
-
Maybe good music venues?
-
Cool bars. Maybe kinda punky, maybe divey. I don’t mind boujee. Or maybe somewhere to have a decent conversation with a stranger.
-
rooftops would be dope. I like being high up and seeing the horizon.
