Tips for car-sleeping in Colorado?
Howdy friends! I humbly beseech you for tips on sleeping in the car while traveling. I’ve seen other posts on the matter, but I’d like to detail my situation to see if anyone has any suggestions!
I’m driving out to Colorado next week from Maryland, and I’m staying there for 9 days. I’ve decided to alternate staying in various AirBnBs across the state and sleeping in the car every other night. I’ll have a rental car (probably a Cruze or a Jetta or something of that nature), so lengthy idling shouldn’t be a mechanical concern. Right? Any advice?
I’ll be leaving the heat on low during the night, and I’ve got an inflatable mattress and 3 blankets (one of which is lined with the super soft sheepskin stuff that gets impossibly warm). Is there anything else I must buy or keep in mind regarding warmth? (I would like to avoid buying a sleeping bag if possible.)
I’ll have suction cup curtains up on the windows and cardboard by both windshields to block out the sun. Is this enough to ensure privacy? This is my last chance to get additional supplies—what am I forgetting? What else should I take into consideration? I don’t want to leave anything to chance. Thank you all for your help!
