Solo Travel isn’t for everyone [Phuket, Thailand]
I’ve always wanted to travel alone. It’s one of those things you see in movies that you wish you could do. Well two weeks ago, in the spur of the moment I purchased tickets to head to Thailand from Alaska. It was a dream come true. People told me they were jealous, people told me I’d have so much fun, people told me that it would be a good trip.
Well after arriving to my destination, I want to go home.
I opted to get the cheapest tickets, which meant I would have to do 30+ hours of traveling from Alaska to Phuket. After actually doing it, I never want to do it again. 4 hours from Alaska to Seattle. 6 hour wait for my flight from Seattle to China. 14 or so hours for the actual flight. 2 hour layover in Shenzhen, China (nightmare by the way). 1 hour flight to Xiamen, China. 11 hour layover in Xiamen. 4 hour flight to Bangkok. Missed my flight to Phuket so I ran around the airport for about an hour. 1 hour wait for my flight. 1 hour flight to Phuket.
I just finished crying in the shower.
I always thought that I was a really independent person. I grew up pretty isolated because my older sister was always out doing her own thing, my parents worked a lot but they also had gambling problems, so I was home by myself a lot. But let me tell you I’ve never felt so alone in my life.
I miss my boyfriend so much. Like this made me realize how much I love him (which I guess is really good). I just wanna fall asleep with him.
And I have to either endure these feelings or overcome them because I won’t be heading home for another 9 days. If I had the money, I would book the most expensive, fastest flight back home already.
