Hi, I'm sorry if this is the wrong sub. Let me know if there is a better place to post this question. I will be traveling with my young family from CA to IL in March. I'll be towing a 16' trailer behind my Expedition. I myself already ran the I-80 route back in December in a Mustang GT and I'm still alive to tell the tale! I'd like to know what to expect on I-80 / I-70 in March. Does 80 usually clear up better than Dec? Or is it about the same?

I don't really want to do I-40 because it's an extra day of driving. I've heard I-70 might be an option, but doesn't that go through the Rockies? Sounds a little riskier than I-80.

I'm planning on splitting the trip into 4 days of ~ 8-9 hours of driving.

I know no one can predict the future, but I'd appreciate any constructive thoughts anyone has.
