Overland from Zimbabwe to Malawi through Mozambique?
Hello.
I am in the midst of planning a solo trip for later this year, in which I'm planning on starting in Lusaka, Zambia and finish in Lilongwe, Malawi. The trip would go from Zambia through Zimbabwe to Malawi. However I'm struggling to find any consistent/useful information online about the available methods of going from Zimbabwe (likely Harare) to Malawi overland. The only bus plan I can find has a 'tiny' detour through Johannesburg first. Are there busses running from Zimbabwe to Malawi (ideally Blantyre, otherwise Lilongwe is fine)? Or possibly Harare to Tete in Mozambique and Tete to Blantyre, since I would like to add a little stop in Mozambique if possible.
Second question: I'm also finding different information regarding getting a Mozambique visa - which I would need since Zimbabwe to Malawi would have to cross through Mozambique. The Lonely Planet guidebook says to arrange visa beforehand, while almost all other resources says its possible to get visa on arrival. Anybody who has done this, and how did you do it?
In general I'm very interested in any tips and information from people who has gone through this area.
I'm from Denmark if that helps anything regarding the visa.
