It's not ok for a hostel worker to force a kiss on you.
I thought about this today on my run. This fall while I was traveling, I had a hostel worker force a make out sesh on me while I was sitting at the bar enjoying time with my new friends. Earlier that day he had shown me around the hostel, my room and introduced me to some fellow travelers. Later in the night he got wasted and that’s when it happened. I didn’t show any signs of wanting to kiss him.
I just want to remind solo travelers that when this happens it’s ok to react. I didn’t react and just kept it in my head and used the excuse that he was drunk. I regret this.
But no. It’s not ok for a hostel worker to do this without your consent. I didn’t go to this hostel for my face to be grabbed and kissed.
Tell other hostel employees. Tell other travelers at the hostel.
