India E-visa, dates of validity and re-entering
Hi all, wasn't sure where to post this so I'm having a crack here - any guidance is appreciated.
Basically I have some flights to India booked on the 7th Jan outbound and 16th March return, which annoyingly cannot be changed or modified - only re-booked.
I also stupidly did my Visa very late to the point where I thought I would miss my outbound flight. As such I submitted the e-visa application with an arrival date of the 18th of Jan, not the 7th of Jan. You can probably see where this is going, so the visa came through unexpectedly today - which means I now have an e-visa valid between the 4th of Jan and the 4th of May - but with a listed journey date as the 18th of Jan 2018.
So, some questions. Can I now fly on the 7th of January? Is the e-visa valid even though I now fly before the arrival date I originally set? I have read some forum links that imply this is ok
Secondly, you may have noticed that the flights I have booked are greater than the 60 day visa period. If I were to leave India and return, would the 60 day period reset and I could use my return flight home? I can't seem to find anything clarifying this.
Would appreciate any guidance, comments on my idiocy also welcome.
