So, I'm planning my first international trip from the US to Budapest and Vienna this spring. I've been a little nervous about how I'm going to get from the airport to my hostel when I land in Budapest. I heard that the cabs there can be a little sketchy. While looking at Hostel World, I noticed that some of the hostels offer "airport transfers" for an additional cost, although they don't elaborate much on what is actually meant by "airport transfer." FWIW, I'm looking at Maverick Hostel, although I haven't booked yet. So what exactly is an airport transfer? Is it a service where they come and get you from the airport? Is it usually worth it or do you have any other advice on getting from the airport to Central Budapest?
