General Suggestions/Advice for a First-Time Working Holiday (South Korea)
Hello all!
I have just recently returned from my second solo trip, where I was in the Netherlands for a week. After coming back and reflecting on the experience, the idea of doing a working holiday has begun to strongly interest me. The more I travel, the more the idea of living/spending time in a foreign country interests me, so I feel as if this is a good time in my life to take advantage of a potential opportunity (M22 yr. old, I graduated college this past May). I have an Internship commitment until this spring/summer (ending in April - May), then I would be able to pursue a working holiday (ideally for around 6 - 8 months).
After doing some research, I learned that South Korea is one of the countries in which I can obtain a working holiday visa (as an American citizen) and that there is the possibility for paid opportunities working in culture and language cafes in Korean cities, which is definitely in-line of my interests. I have been to two different countries in Asia (China and Japan), but never South Korea.
I know there has been numerous posts on here about working holidays, but I couldn't seem to find too many that were focused on South Korea. So I am seeing if anyone here has any personal insight/experience in a workaway/working holiday experience in South Korea (doesn't have to be similar language/culture exchange work, any is appreciated) and any other general advice/thoughts for a first-time workawayer/working holiday-er.
The idea of a working holiday is something that greatly excites me, as I am curious in understanding and immersing myself into a culture (past visiting a country as strictly a tourist), so I thank you all in advance for any responses! I greatly appreciate it.
