Finally picked a destination (Iceland), just need more help!
Hey all, I made a post here and it was evident I needed to do some more work on my end as far as planning and figuing out what I wanted to do.
I've decided that Iceland is what i want to do after seeing several frontpage pictures, haha.
I'll have to increase my budget pretty significantly ($1500 USD) from what I was shooting for but it should be fine since I'll have some more time to save. Rental car and flight are gonna be a bit so I'm thinking about Couchsurfing to help with the cost a little. Sounds like it's pretty huge over in Iceland and reasonably safe/trusted. It'll also help me get an idea for things to go and see from the locals. Also planning on eating as little as possible to help the cost (sandwiches, eggs, granola bars).
My plan is to go May 10th-11th until the 18th-19th.
Here is where I need help.

I don't have much gear (hiking/etc). For those that have been to Iceland, how should I be preparing to pack? What kind of hiking stuff will I need? Sounds like it's pretty tame "hiking" but I don't have hiking shoes or anything and not sure what 'gear' entails.

I appreciate all the help I've gotten in the past here, and all over Reddit! Seems like a great destination! (lastly, prayers/thoughts as this is the first solo thing I've ever done and kinda freaking out, haha)
