Confused on alcohol/duty free in middle east countries. Help?
Ok so I don't really care about duty free, but one of the things I collect on my travels are local beers. I love trying local beers from around the world, and I generally bring an empty bottle or two back with me to put in my glassware cabinet. I have a return flight through Qatar, which if I understand correctly bringing alcohol in is illegal.
Im confused how this works. I won't technically be going out of the airport on my way home, I have a 2 hour layover which means I shouldn't have to leave the terminal, and I won't be checking a bag (I only travel with a carry on pack). I anticipate that ill be fine, im not leaving the terminal and I believe Qatar sells booze at duty free (I think?).
Sorry for the dumb question, I'm just being extra cautious. Id hate to be pulled aside for smuggling alcohol for a dumb beer bottle collectible. I can't seem to get a good answer on Google.
