Booked a Solo Trip to Amsterdam + London in February! Got any recommendations for me?
Hey Hey,
I just booked tickets on a whim and am embarking on a solo trip to Amsterdam + London in February, spending about a week in each city.
I just booked my airbnbs in Amsterdam (De Pijp for the weekend, Jordaan for the other half), but am trying to figure out what neighborhood(s) I should stay at in London. So far my tops are Clerkenwell, Bethnal Green, Shoreditch, Notting Hill and Whitechapel/Brick Lane. Thoughts? I usually try to avoid touristy neighborhoods/tourist traps. Any and all recos are welcome though!
When I'm solo tripping, I'm a rather eclectic traveler. I love to wander around (and get stoned if it's legit wherever I am at the moment), take photos and check out markets and stores (I love to thrift/antique). I'm a creative human and a comedian, so art and comedy are high on the list as well. And obviously food + drinks are a must. I have a special place in my heart for hole-in-the-walls and dives, but usually treat myself to a spendy spot or two for good measure. I'm bi/queer, so any LGBTQ+ spots would be fun to check out too.
And if anyone else is going to Amsterdam/London in February, hit me up for dates. Def. down to meet up with like-minded travelers. Thanks!
TLDR: Traveling to Amsterdam + London in February. I like to live like a local when I solo trip, what should I do/where should I go?
