Amtrak or plane?
Hey guys, I'm a 32 year old female solo traveler flying to NYC from South Carolina in April, one of my shorter trips, but I'm excited to do it...haven't explored NYC solo too much. I found a flight there that was the right time of day and price, but I'm having a hard time finding a flight back. The only one that sort of works is a $160 one way flight that passes South Carolina and stops off in Fort Lauderdale for almost 5 hours, making the trip 12 hours or so. In contrast, I found an amtrak ticket for $108 that takes 13 hours, getting me home early in the morning. So, I'd need to sleep on the train, and I could only afford a coach ticket (not a room). I have a lot of air travel experience and ZERO experience with Amtrak. What would you do? Is there anything I should be aware of regarding Amtrak as a solo traveler?
