Summer 2019 - West Coast + East Coast in 6 weeks - doable?
Hi there,
I am planning on a road trip next summer (June-July) The plan currently looks like this:
Fly into Seattle.
Seattle --> Portland --> Eugene --> Crescent City --> San Francisco --> LA --> Las Vegas.
We are allocating 2 days for each city (except Eugene and Crescent City), as well as a half day to drive between each stop. Does that sound reasonable? Are there any other cities we should consider stopping at along the route?
After Vegas we will fly to DC.
DC (3 days) --> Baltimore (1 day) --> Philadelphia (1 day) --> NYC.
We are meeting friends in NYC, so will stay there for a few days. After NYC we want to head up to New Brunswick, Canada. Is it worth driving through the North-Eastern states (CT, Mass, NH, Maine) or would it be better to just fly? I'm not that familiar with them and not sure which cities would be worth stopping at.
I've also considered starting somewhere like Miami for the west coast portion, but I'm worried that the drive from Miami ---> NYC might be too rushed.
We are in our late 20s, and enjoy seeing things off the beaten track as well as driving for good food.
