MN to Park City, UT. Roadside attraction recommendations
Hey there. We are driving from Minnesota to Park City Utah in late February for some skiing. Our route will lead us through South Dakota on I-90, then down to I-80 in WY and over to Utah. We are going to take three days for the drive so looking for a couple nice stopping points to stretch our legs and maybe see some pretty winter scenery.
I've been to Wall Drug before and that's not necessarily my cup of tea but may make a stop again. I'm thinking there may be a pretty overlook or walk near Rapid City SD but I'm not very familiar with the area. Also have no idea what to look out for going through WY into Utah.
Also, we are still deciding on whether we may take some skiing days in Breckenridge. If so we'd cut over to I-70 from Park City and head through Colorado that way and back home through Denver. If you have any recommended stops on that route feel free to share them as well! I've taken the 70 through UT and CO multiple times but have never been on some of the smaller highways leading towards salt lake. Looks like the route would be Hwy 6 + 191 or Hwy 40 +64 and 13 depending on road conditions.
I have read plenty of posts about winter driving! We have chains and a heavy vehicle and are familiar with unfavorable conditions and when to pull off the road. Thanks in advance!
Edit: any food recs would be appreciated as well!
