Madrid in early January
Hi everyone! I've found myself with some significant time off in January, and would like to explore some of Spain (since I've never been before.) For context, I'm 27/M/UK, and enjoy live music (especially jazz), bookshops, markets, churches, and plan to walk as much as I can. I've planning on staying as close to the centre of town as possible.
I'd like to visit over a weekend, so I have two choices: visit over the first weekend of the year (5th and 6th), or the second (12th and 13th.) Seeing as it's early January, I expect things to be quiet. But that said, I would still like to see some life in the city (and definitely want attractions/bars to be open.) Could someone please advise which weekend would be better to visit? And - if there are any special events going on, that might sway my choice in favour of one weekend or the other?
Thanks!
