Houston to Park City, UT
Planning to drive with my hubby from Houston to Park City, UT in about a week and wondering if we're thinking everything through.
We will be driving non-stop (aside from gas, bathroom breaks, food), alternating every ~8 hours (according to Google it is a 24 hour drive). We will have one of those backseat SUV air mattresses to sleep on when we're not driving.
We will be driving a 2WD SUV with all weather tires and snow chains available if needed. I'm going to change my oil, check antifreeze, add winter windshield washer fluid.
We're bringing: a portable tire inflator, spare tire, snow chains, jumper cables (although my car battery is new), a couple gallons of water, some salt, some blankets.
How difficult is highway driving in Park City? We will be staying 10 minutes from Deer Valley (where we will be skiing) and will access the resort via the freeway (we won't be travelling in the city). Am I delusional thinking 2WD with snow chains will be okay in Park City for a week? From what I've read on trip advisor and reddit, I think I'll be okay, but I don't want to be totally shocked/incapacitated when I get there.
Thanks for any help.
