Does anyone have any experience with silent retreats?
I'm thinking of including a 10-day silent meditative retreat on my next trip to Asia. I've been to Asia already and hopping around cities isn't what I want to do anymore. But this would be a good challenge. A 10-day silent retreat in the Tibetan mountains sounds fan-fucking-tastic! As for the meditation aspect, I'm very excited to understand what some talk about when they say meditation completely changed their lives. Obviously, I don't know what I'm in for. Does anyone here have any direct experience they could share about how it's going to be like? I'm already nervous about the prospect of sitting still for 12 hours or more. That part'll be excruciating but I'm confident the pain eventually will pass. Other than that, what are some things I should know about. Would you recommend it?
