Help me plan a roadtrip from the Southeast to the Northeast
Next summer my husband and I are going to take our two kids (who will be 4 and 6) on a 10 day round-trip roadtrip.
We will start from our home in Memphis TN. Our ultimate destination is Sesame Place in Langhorne PA (this trip is for the kids).
We are fine with taking one route going and different route coming back in order to maximize places to see and things to do.
We are seasoned pros at traveling long distances with the kiddos, so we know we need 6 hours a day of travel time, 6 hours a day for sight seeing, and 12 hours for sleeping, eating, and shuffling around to and from car and hotel, etc.
Places of interest to possible include on this trip are: (we know some of these are beyond Langhorne, that's okay so long as the Sesame stop is part of the trip)
- Charlotte NC (to see the brother-in-law)
- NYC
- Boston
- Atlantic City
- Hershey PA
- Philadelphia
- Pittsburgh
- Washington DC
I would love suggestions on routes to take and stops along the way. Places the kids will enjoy (zoos, active children's museums, all the best pizza joints, trampoline parks, theme parks, theme restaurants (like Medieval Times).. etc.)
