37-day road trip in the West - Seeking advice!
Hi all!
I am planning a 37 day road-trip from late October to end of November. I would be flying to Seattle, renting an RV and then driving to Yellowstone and all parks all the way down to San Diego and then driving up the coast.
What I have currently planned is below, I know this is for the least a challenging planning with few days of driving up to ~6 hours, but I would like to do as much as possible before I have to leave the country...
I am looking for any advice/thing that seems crazy in this planning, and also have few questions...:
- In Yellowstone, it looks like you cannot sleep inside the park in November as there is no campground opened at this time, nor lodges. I was planning to sleep outside the park and get in for the day, depending on road conditions. I could also switch to Grand Teton if there is no way I can get in. Do you guys know any other way to proceed at this time of year?
- In Monument Valley, it is my understanding that you do not need a permit to drive in the park, but you would if you want to do some hiking. It also looks like a guide is more than useful in there. Do you know if it is worth it?
Thanks for your help!
