Planning my first solotravel trip! Central/South America, need some advice
Hi all!
I'm planning on traveling through Central and South America starting in November for anywhere between 1-3 months. I have a one way ticket booked to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico for my best friend's wedding in early November, and plan to work my way down south for as long as I can. I'll be finishing up my Peace Corps service in Belize in October, so likely won't spend a lot of there since I've seen a lot here already, but I want to explore the other areas around here. My budget will be roughly $3,000, so I'll make it last as long as I can before going back, and will plan on going with just my backpack.
I'm interested in going through Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, Honduras, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, and Peru (if I can make all of that work, we'll see), and am looking for advice on where to go and what to do! I'm a scuba diver, so I'll definitely be hitting up the cenotes in Mexico, as well as Utila and Roatan in Honduras. Aside from that, I'm all about hiking and any sort of adventurey stuff, but wouldn't mind an occasional beach or two.
Would appreciate anything/everything you could tell me to prepare! Thanks y'all!
