Is it too hot to car camp in Arizona/New Mexico/Texas in July?
Long story short life has handed me a month free this June and I want to take advantage of it. I went on a roadtrip last year down the west coast, but I needed to head back up before getting very far into Arizona. This time I am planning on going a bit faster down the coast so I can get to Arizona/New Mexico/Texas a bit faster to see all the things that I originally wanted to see. Here is a very rough snapshot of the route through these states that I am thinking.
Problem is that I'm worried I'm going to die from the heat. Last time I was down there it hit 120F and I was in a car with air conditioning. This time I'm going to be heading down in a car with bad/no AC and I won't have loads of money for hotels. Is it reasonable to be able to sleep in a vehicle/tent in these states in July?
