How to travel/backpack in Costa Rice by myself for a week on a budget?
So I'm a college student (21 Male) and I'd love to travel to Costa Rica for a week to see the sights, relax a little, try new things, and definitely drink and party a little. I've been researching a little and will probably be flying into San Jose, but I am unsure of what to do next, especially since it is green season. If anyone has any advice, I'd love to hear it! I definitely want to hike, see the sights, try the food, but would also appreciate a little bit of fun and nightlife as well. I was reading up on starting in San Jose, going to La Fortuna from there, then heading to Monteverde, then Manuel Antonio. I have a budget of about 800-1K, and definitely would like to see the volcanoes, maybe go caving (although I may be too tall) visit the natural parks, try the local alcohol/food, and party. I have been to Europe before as part of a study abroad 3 month trip to Barcelona, so I’m used to different cultures as I traveled often during my stay. I also made several solo trips, one to London and one to Stockholm. Obviously Costa Rica would be a very different experience and I’m having a hard time encouraging myself to go, whereas it was easy for me to go when I was in Europe. Any advice on my mind-state, ideas on how to efficiently and cost-effectively manage my route, and encouragement would be great!
