Should I take a Long Layover - Seoul
Hello. I am currently planning a trip to Japan, and my departure flight has a layover in Seoul. Right now the flight would arrive in Seoul 4am, but I have a few choices in layover length. I was thinking it may be nice to take a longer layover and head into Seoul to get a tiny taste of South Korea.
My question is, would it be worth taking the longer layover to spend a few hours in Seoul, or should i just take the shortest layover and spend those hours in Japan? Right now my plan is to spend about 6 nights in Kyoto and 4 nights in Tokyo.
My options for flights are as follows.
1) Arrive Seoul 4 AM Depart Seoul 7:55 AM Arrive Japan 9:40 AM Total time 3h 55m
2) Arrive Seoul 4 AM Depart Seoul13:05 Arrive Japan15:50 Total time 10h 5m
3) Arrive Seoul 4 AM Depart Seoul 17:20 Arrive Japan19:15 Total time 13h 20m
Originally I was planning on taking option 2 as it was in the sweet spot, but with the flight getting in so early, I don't think I can do much with those 10 hours. So I am think either I go all or nothing. This will be my first time having a good opportunity to take a long layover to check out a city, and I was just looking to see if anyone had any insight or suggestions for me.
Thanks in advance!
