Road Trip Through Italy
My husband and I are flying to Italy at the end of June. We will start in Naples, driving to Pompeii, then Sorrento, possibly doing a day trip to Capri? then off to Positano, Amalfi and along the coast. Staying a few days and then driving north maybe through Bologna or Florence where we will stop in Venice for a few days before flying out. While I mostly have the route down I don't know what to do in each place. Obviously, eat a lot of food, take in the sights but I'd like specific ideas of things people have loved or discovered while in any of these locations - hidden gems we should check out. My husband seems to think (in a slightly salty way) that people who travel to Europe are looking to have amazing food...he's questioning why we're flying across the world to eat great pasta and I want to WOW him with other aspects of Italy - not just the food because that's a given :) We like adventure, hiking, walking, being active, boating, sailing, diving, swimming, sunrises, sunsets, live music - basically we're open to any form of fun. I'm not sure if anyone out there has an itinerary for a similar trip or just a favorite location/experience you've had but I'm all ears! Thank you in advance for your time :)
