I need to pick one to stop at for ~3 days in mid-May as a part of a larger road trip West. I've heard Jasper has a slightly better reputation bc it is larger and less touristy, while just as beautiful as Banff. I was wondering if it is worth the extra drive time since we are on a pretty tight schedule. We will be coming from Glacier (MT) and going to Vancouver after so Banff saves us about 3-4 hours. Is Banff overly crowded in mid-May? Which one is better to hike and camp at?

I know this question's been posted a few times but I feel like our trip is a little different due to the time frame. Any input would be awesome!
