How would you spend 15 days in Italy? Arriving in Ancona by ferry and leaving from anywhere.

I've read through old posts on Reddit, read travel blogs, talked to family members, and I must say I'm a bit overwhelmed with all the advice I've received about travelling solo in Italy.
So I'm throwing it out to whoever has been, how would you spend 15 days, beginning in Ancona? I'm planning to arrive there by ferry from Split or Zadar (Croatia) as this seems like the quickest ferry route. This will be in mid-June, and I'm not too limited by end point as long as I end up near an airport.
I'm a 23 year old guy, big into nightlife, but I'm going to be getting a tone of that in my Eastern European leg so it's not my top priority. I want to see those must-see attractions in Rome and Florence, visit Cinque Terre, and otherwise enjoy the food, the lifestyle and stay in a small village at one point. I'd like to stay in hostels whenever possible.
I Would love to get some suggestions for a general 15 day itinerary, keeping travel time in mind. Thanks in advance!
