Hostels with free or cheap tours/daily activities?
Any recommendations for hostels they've stayed at that had free or cheap daily activities/tours? Particularly sightseeing, not necessarily friday night BBQ social stuff. I can get by just fine when the location is cheap and the public transportation is good (e.g. most of southeast Asia), but for a lot of other places you'd probably need a car or the luxury of time to do proper sightseeing.
I spontaneously booked a short trip to Maui (crazy cheap tickets), and was happy to discover that the hostel I'm going to stay at has daily free tours; Maui is a perfect example of a place that would require a car or much more expensive tours to do sightseeing. If I stayed at a different hostel, I'd either have to stick by the beach or pay like $100 each for tours.
Has anyone else heard of hostels like this? Are there any you'd recommend? As a solo traveler I'm a fan of going on at least one tour wherever I go, just because it's a nice way to meet new people and take the stress out of planning an itinerary (especially if you feel like you have to make each day worth it).
