Advice on Hostels in Bali, Working Remotely, Need Fast Reliable Wifi (planning on staying 4+ weeks)
Hey all,
28 year old guy from the DC area in the US. Very excited that I have been approved by my work to go remotely abroad for a month from mid-September- mid October and would like to hear any advice on where to stay. I was leaning toward Canggu and learning how to surf during that time, but definitely want to hear other opinions (think I should stay put or roam the island?). I am going to try to keep my budget to around $1500 a month including lodgings which I hear is pretty doable.
I'm a social guy that definitely wants a cool group of people around. The only time I ever spent a night in a hostel I ended up getting slammed and going out to a country festival in Split, Croatia with an Irish track team while my friends stayed in, one of my favorite nights- so very excited to live that for a month solo.
I was thinking of staying at The Farm Hostel, WaterBorn Bali, La Boheme, or Villa 9. I'm kind of looking for a chill/party vibe (not spring break crazy but social and has cool people that are down to party), something with decent amenities, great wifi is mandatory as I am living a short term digital nomad lifesyle.
My only concern with the farm is it's distance from the beach, there's a part of me that wants to able to walk to the beach from where I end up staying, but definitely want to hear your thoughts. I am open to renting a motor bike to get around. Also a cool staff would be awesome since I'd be spending a while there!
Also awesome surfing and diving program recommendations would be much appreciated, I'm trying to at least learn to stand up on a surf board before I leave.
Would really appreciate any input!
